A note from Mr Pardini
Thank you to all our families who were able to come along to support the P&F Sundowner last Friday afternoon. It was a very relaxed occasion to meet and greet some new families as well as share holiday stories amongst existing families. Thank you to the P&F for your work providing this free opportunity to us - the beef and gravy rolls were a real hit!
Next week begins the season of Lent. On Tuesday all students will be looking forward to eating some pancakes for Shrove Tuesday. This day is part of an old tradition where people would use up ingredients in their homes which they were not allowed to eat during the fasting period of Lent (approximately 40 days). Wednesday is Ash Wednesday (the official start to Lent). Ash Wedneday Mass will be celebrated in the church at 9.00am for all children in Year 5 and 6. Please feel free to join us for this Mass.
Next Sunday 26 February, at 9.00am, we would love as many families to join us for our annual commissioning Mass. At this mass, our Head Boy and Head Girl, as well as Faction Captains will be presented to the entire community, along with the staff, P&F and School Board. Following Mass, we will have a morning tea so if you can provide a plate to share, we would appreciate it.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Faction Swimming Carnival
A reminder, the St Brigid's Faction swimming carnival will be held on Friday 3 March. To allow Mrs Beesley, PE Teacher, adequate time to plan the carnival, all carnival swimming nomination forms are due Friday 17 February (tomorrow). This form can be found on SZapp in the Feed section. This carnival is a fun day for the Y3-6 students, it is part of the PE program and caters for all swimming abilities including novelty events.
Where is Mrs Lidds?
For those of you who don't know, Mrs Lidds is recovering from recent surgery and is looking forward to returning to school in the coming weeks and seeing all the children. Nat wishes to thank all the people in our school community that have made contact with her. Get well soon Mrs Lidds!
Parent Guide to Individual Plans (IPs)
Teachers may sometimes refer to Individual Plans (IPs) written for your child to assist their learning at school. Have you ever wanted to know what an IP is? Very soon, parents whose children have IPs will be invited to a teacher meeting (one to one) where the plan is discussed. For more information on IPs and how you can best prepare for parent-teacher meetings, please click the link below.

Busselton Jetty Swim
Congratulations to four of our St Brigid's families who competed in the Busselton Jetty Swim last weekend. Oliver and Ruby swam 225 metres, Baye swam 500 metres, and Boston competed in a relay with his family swimming 600 metres. What a mind-blowing distance you all swam in the ocean. Well done everyone...you are awesome!
