Thursday 3 April 2025 (Week 9)
A note from Mr Pardini
Dear Families,
Religious Education Co-ordinator - Many of you will know that Mrs Louise Barber carries out a role which looks at many facets of Religious Education at St Brigid's. This role, known as the Religious Education Coordinator (REC) is important to maintain, and next term, I am pleased to announce Mrs Amy Price has been successfully appointed as our REC. This role occurs on Friday each week and I have already communicated to the Year 2 families that Mrs Sheree Payton-Teale will be teaching the Year 2 class each Friday until the end of the year. We look forward to both Amy commencing as REC and Sheree commencing in Year 2 each Friday.
Parent Teacher Meetings - A reminder, the bookings are live and available for you to secure your 10-minute time slot with your child's teacher. Thank you to the families who have already booked a meeting, we strongly encourage parents and guardians to book a face-to-face meeting with your child’s teacher. Please visit the 'home page' on SZapp to book. A reminder, on Tuesday 8 April, to accommodate these interviews, the school will close at 12.00pm. Thank you.
P&F Schedule of Events - Over the course of this year, our P&F committee has worked out a 'Schedule of Events' assigned to class groups. As each event approaches, a P&F Committee member and the Class Rep work together with the support of parents in the assigned class to make the event happen. To see what is coming up, I have attached a copy of this below.
Hot cross buns - Thank you to our band of helpers who will be assisting Mike Kneale this Sunday as they prepare and cook over 600 hot cross buns. Don't forget, you will need to collect your hot cross buns on Sunday. Any items not collected on Sunday will be available at school on Monday.
Yr 5 Talison Excursion - Last week I was excited to travel to the Talison mine site with the Year 5 class as they took part in an excursion looking at the sustainability aspect of this large company. We were lucky to time our visit to experience a blast in progress as well as a visit to the sustainability division which plants Balga trees and other vegetation in the community. The tour concluded with a visit to the Greenbushes Museum. Thank you, Mrs Pettersen, for taking the time to organise this class trip.
Pupil Free Days - A reminder, the final day of term is Thursday 10 April. Friday 11 April is a pupil free day as the staff will be completing some professional learning. I hope this extra day off may lead everyone nicely into the holiday period. The start of Term 2 for students is Tuesday 29 April.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
