Thursday 4 May, 2023 (Week 2)
A note from Mr Pardini
Welcome back to the start of Term 2! I know this term promises to be an exciting one with lots of activities, events and learning opportunities.
ANZAC DAY
Thank you to the year 6 class for hosting our school ANZAC Day service last Friday. Although I was unable to attend, I would like to extend appreciation to the staff and students for the their efforts in preparing and participating in this special remembrance service. We also welcomed the attendance of ex-service personnel special guests, Mr Rob Roberts, Mr Tim Streeter and Ms Melissa Wiles. Earlier in the week, on ANZAC day, Tuesday 25 April, our Head Students (Matilda and Xavier) laid the wreath at the Bridgetown Community Service. Well done to all students involved in making sure we don't forget this important part of our history.
Teacher-Parent Meetings
If any families did not have the opportunity to meet their child's teacher for the one-to-one parent meetings, please make a time this term to catch up for these important chats.
Kearnan Road Show
Thank you to those parents who attended the Orientation talk with Kearnan College this week. Our apologies for any inconvenience caused with the 'mix-up' but I know Mr Ben Priest is looking forward to a new and improved presentation. The new revised morning talk was sent out via SZApp and Seesaw yesterday. We look forward to seeing Year 5/6 families in the library this coming Tuesday 9 May at 9.00am in the school library.
Mother's Day
Our wonderful staff is once again inviting all our Mums to school for a special treat on Friday 12 May. This year, we have broken with tradition from morning tea and will be treating Mums to an early morning breakfast from 7.45am, similar to our Father's Day brekkie. Come along to enjoy a gourmet brioche bacon, camembert and spinach roll. A coffee van will be there should you wish to purchase a hot drink, or you may prefer to make your own. The P&F will be drawing the Mother's Day raffle on this morning. Children are welcome too - we have a bacon roll organised for them as well. So come along to the basketball court and let's launch into Mother's Day weekend in style!
COVID update
We are seeing more cases in our community so please take care. If your child feels unwell, please exercise caution to help us eliminate the spread. Children who test positive are required to remain at home if they display symptoms. Once the virus has run its course, sometimes you may still return a postive result. Attending school is permitted in this case, as long as your child is not displaying symptoms. We still have alot of RATs tests available, so contact us if you need some.
Have a great weekend everyone!
