Thursday 1 June, 2023 (Week 6)
A note from Mr Pardini
Cross Country
Well done to all competitors at last week's Cross Country. As I was walking the track with some of the classes, I was thinking to myself that it really is a long way to run and so all students should be very proud of their personal achievements. Thank you Mrs Beesley for your coordination of this year's 'river park' run! Next week, the students who qualified (from Years 3-6) will join around 300 other students at the Interschool Cross Country to be held at East Manjimup Primary School. Families of those children will have received a separate letter via SZapp.
Year 6 Kearnan Orientation Day
Yesterday our Year 6 class enjoyed a day to experience life as a 'Middle School' student at our regional sister school Kearnan College. Over the course of the day, the students tried their hands at Science, Art, woodwork and cooking - I wonder if there were any cheese scones left for you to taste when they arrived home!
The Principal of Kearnan College, Mr Ben Priest, handed all students an enrolment pack. Please ensure you hand in the enrolment form to ensure your child does not miss a spot for Year 7, 2024. Enrolments should be received by the end of this term. Please contact Kearnan College if you have any queries on 97770677.
Pupil Free Day
A reminder to all families, following this Monday's public holiday, we have a pupil free day on Tuesday 6 June. We welcome all students back on Wednesday 7 June for a very 'short' week 7!
First Holy Communion
Please join us for the sacrament of First Holy Communion on Sunday 11 June at 9.00am. We keep in our prayers Millie and Reegan who will be receiving Holy Communion for the first time, as well as Levi who has recently made his First Communion. Following Mass there will be a light morning tea in the hall and we ask you for bring a plate of food to share.
School Photo Day - Tuesday 14 June
Photo day is nearly here! We will be 'double-checking' the uniform on this day and we ask all families to do the same on this day too. Please ensure your child wears the correct winter uniform next Tuesday 14 for our school photo shoot. Family photo forms are available from the front office.
SEQTA Engage - new school report format
I know I have mentioned this for some weeks now, but I want to give all families time to prepare for the end of semester reports which will be ready in the final week of term. In case you have missed previous correspondence, families will no longer receive a hard copy (paper) report. St Brigid's will be using a program called SEQTA as a digital platfrom for you to retrieve your child's report. You will have the option to print your own reports at home should you wish, in the meantime, all families are required to setup their SEQTA account. If you are having any trouble with this, please contact the front reception.
Cyber-safety parent meeting at St Brigid's
This week I pushed out a notice on SZapp about this upcoming workshop on Tuesday 27 June at 6.30pm (Week 10, Term 2) where we have been fortunate to secure an expert in this field to talk with St Brigid's families. This session will deal with cyber safety and digital wellness to help parents navigate the very complex online world. To RSVP for this session, please click the link below.
Enjoy the long weekend everyone - see you on Wednesday next week!

Cross Country
A note from Mrs Beesley ...
What a beautiful day it was for our annual Cross-Country Event last Friday the 26th May. It was a very fresh start to the morning; however, it was a perfect day for running.
I would like to congratulate all the students who competed and gave it their best! We have been training for the past 5 weeks and I was very impressed with how well everyone applied themselves.
A special thank you to the Year 6 students (Lily McDonald, Sophie Scott, Tyler Jansen, Reid Hansford, Xavier Lobb and Sam Reape) who helped for the day with set-up, pack down, course marshalling and student assistance. I was very impressed with the level of maturity and care you provided!
Thank you also to all the staff and parents who also came along and supported the students. The day was a great success and now to get ready for the Interschool Event next Friday!
