Thursday 30 November, 2023 (Week 8)
A note from Mr Pardini
Dear Families,
The week is flying by quicker than we care to stop and think about it! Hold onto your hats as it will be a race to the finish line with so much still to come.
Interschool Sports Carnival
What a day! Thank you firstly to all our families for your support after I rescheduled the carnival from last week -who would have thought the morning would start with a shower of rain!!! A huge note of thanks to the coordinator of the day, Mrs Beesley. Thank you for training and overseeing every part of the day to ensure it ran smoothly.
Congratulations to St Brigid's on winning the shield for the second year in a row and displaying the sportsmanship attitude we all know and love at St Bs! Well done to all of our students who participated, giving your absolute best effort. Congratulations to our individual Champions and Runner-Up Champions (listed further in this newsletter). Thank you Leena Jones for coordinating the P&F coffee and cake stall with assistance from our Year 2 parents...food and coffee at a sports canival is always a 'winner!'
AGM
Thank you for your support of our Annual General meeting on Tuesday night. The AGM was a great opportunity to hear a summation of the year from our two school committees (the P&F and School Advisory Council).
At the meeting I was able to acknowledge our outgoing P&F President, Ellen Pettersen. Thank you once again Ellen for being a very efficient leader of this committee. You certainly were a great organiser over the year, keeping us all on our toes and getting lots done - I know you leave with the knowledge that you are very proud of all the committee achieved.
On behalf of Ellen and myself, I would also like to acknowledge the work Rae Tassos added to the P&F this year. My apologies Rae, as I missed the opportunity at the AGM to personally thank you and announce you were concluding your time as a committee member. As many of you know, it is not easy when you have young children to give your time to committees - we certainly loved having your input at our meetings and giving us a valuable 'Early Childhood' perspective for some of our focus fundraising efforts which I know will continue into 2024. Thank you Rae.
So without further ado, I am pleased to say we have a great line-up of members for both committees. Thank you for your nominations which we gladly accepted of course! I am pleased to announce our committees for 2024:

Year 6 Graduation
What a HUGE day for our graduating class! We commenced the day with Mass to celebrate with 'thanksgiving' all that this awesome group of students has given to our school over the years. At the Mass, the children were handed their Graduation packs which included a class photo and Graduation certificate. The day concluded with dinner at the Football Club over a sensation meal prepared by one of our parents, Liz Oliver. The evening concluded with the Year 6 families coming together and sharing a drink. I must say, I was very impressed with how everyone made such an effort to look their best at both events yesterday. Thank you Mrs Humby and Mr Ternent for coordinating these events yesterday which I am sure made the class feel very special.
Year 6 Assembly
Apologies for the change of time but we didn't want any of the classes to miss assembly (due to swimming lessons), so we have scheduled it to commence at 2.30pm on Friday. Please join in the hall for our Year 6 class final assembly in Primary school.
Carols on the oval
Please join us for our end of year concert on the oval this Tuesday 5 December. The evening will commence at 6.15pm. We look forward to presenting to you a bit of 'Christmas cheer' to begin the festive season. Please see the flyers below for more information.
Have a great weekend everyone and I look forward to seeing you all on Monday for the final week of school!
