Friday 16 February, 2024 (Week 3)
A note from Mr Pardini
Dear Families,
This morning we held our first assembly for the year. Congratulations to Charlotte Price who was awarded Xavier the Bear and the coveted MJR Award. It was with pleasure that we could all celebrate Charlotte receiving this award as proof of the beautiful person that she is. Thank you for being a part of our school Charlotte!
Season of Lent
This week has certainly been a big week in the Liturgical season of the church. On Tuesday our school enjoyed some 'yummy' pancakes cooked in class to celebrate Shrove Tuesday. The following day, all students received ashes as part of Ash Wednesday. That means, we are officially in the season of Lent which lasts until Easter Sunday. Over this time, we enter a period of 'waiting' for the Easter mystery.
St Mary's Boyup Brook
Today was also a day where our neighbouring Catholic School (St Mary's Boyup Brook) joined us for some interschool activities. We were fortunate to be joined by the Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 classes from St Mary's. I hope all children enjoyed making some new connections today from both schools.
Occupational Therapy update
Thank you to all families whose children are in Kindy/Pre-Primary or Year 1 for returning the required paperwork about our Occupational Therapist (OT) screening. We have been very fortunate to have Reanna Streeter give us four days to conduct a comprehensive screen of your child's fine and gross motor development. A huge thanks to the St Brigid's P&F who funded the costs associated with this initiative.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
