Thursday 7 March, 2024 (Week 6)
A note from Mr Pardini
Dear Families,
Caritas 'Mission' Money
We are now into the third week of Lent. The Year 4 class has taken on the responsibility of tracking the money raised through Caritas (Catholic Missions). Each classroom has a money collection box. Thank you to all students for your support of our Missions appeal, in the true 'spirit' of Lent, this is a time of giving up and giving to others. Caritas is a Catholic organisation that supports those in need. At the most recent count of money, the school has collectively raised $238.90 with the Year 3 class leading the efforts with $98.15. The class who raises most wins the prize of taking part in an exciting Easter Egg Hunt organised by Mrs Barber! Which class will it be?
P&F Movie Night
Save the date! The committee is putting a lot of work into this event, and it would be great to receive the support of our St B's families for this event.
Start of the school day - arrival at school!
Our school and classrooms open at 8.20am in readiness for lessons commencing 8.40am. We are noticing an increase in the number of students arriving to school earlier than 8.20am. We do not have a staff member assigned to morning duty before 8.20am so in the interests of the safety of all children and to allow for staff to prepare for the day please support us by with keeping school arrival time between 8.20am to 8.40am. Thank you.
Swimming Carnival
Thank you to our P&F who are coordinating the cake stall for tomorrow's swimming carnival. This fundraiser is part of the Year 3 schedule, so I encourage all Year 3 families to assist where possible by baking something or helping in the stall. I look forward to our first sporting event of the year on Friday.
P&F and School Advisory Meetings
A reminder to both committees, we are meeting soon. Please make sure you have these dates in your diary.
- P&F - Tuesday 12 March (9.00am) in the school library
- School Advisory Council - Tuesday 19 March (6.00pm) in the staffroom.
Parent Teacher Meetings (Tuesday 26 March)
Many of you have already booked a slot to see your child's teacher for a one-to-one meeting on Tuesday 26 March. A reminder to everyone, on this day we will close the school at midday (12.00pm) so all teachers can accommodate these meetings. Your support arranging for your child to be collected at 12.00pm on this day is appreciated. The on-line booking system is located on the home page of our SZapp - just look for the red tile and follow the prompts.
P&F Fun Run
Watch this space...the P&F are coordinating another colour 'Fun Run' for our school at the start of Term 2. Three years ago our school raised a staggering $16,000 through the Fun Run, with the proceeds heading towards the Norne (Snake) playground. This year, the P&F focus is in the Early childhood area, to update some of the outside play areas. Next week, all families will receive a link to begin collecting on-line funds for your child's account.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

P&F Movie Night
SAVE THE DATE! Year 5 Parent Group are organising a movie night fundraiser for Friday March 22. The P&F have even purchased a new big blow up screen! The title of the movie will be a surprise too. Keep an eye out for more details about this exciting event. CDFpay tickets will be available soon. Don’t miss this incredible night under the stars with our special St B's community.
First Aid Manual
This week, all families should have received a free Family First Aid manual. This resource was donated to the school by a community organisation who supports Camp Quality.
We hope you this copy may be an easy reference guide for you to store at home.
