Thursday 18 April, 2024 (Week 1)
A note from Mr Pardini
Dear Families,
Three Year Old 'Little Sprouts'
It was great to meet the youngest members of our school yesterday as they commenced their first day of school. We have 18 Little Sprouts enrolled in our Pre-Kindy class this year. I am sure there were a lot of tired children (and teachers) last night!
'Paint Me A Rainbow' Autism Awareness Week
Next week is Autism awareness week and we celebrate with a splash of colour at St Brigid's. Here is what will happen at the start of next week:
- Monday 22 April - students can wear rainbow clothes to school (gold coin donation)
- Tuesday 23 April - Paint Me A Rainbow merchandise market stall
- Wednesday 24 April - Cupcake stall ($2.50 per cake)
Canteen Menu
Have you seen the new canteen menu? What an awesome menu our canteen manager Kristan has come up with for this term. You will notice a change since the start of the year with some yummy new home-made items on the menu. Thank you to Kristan and her band of helpers who spent a big day over the holidays preparing. You can see the full menu below and order via CDF Pay.
Kearnan College visit - Thursday 2 May
On Thursday 2 May, we look forward to a visit from Kearnan College staff including Mr Ben Priest - Principal, together with Mrs Heidi Tempra - Head of Secondary and Mrs Liz Collins - Year 7 Coordinator, who will talk with our Year 5/6 students by way of an introduction to Middle School at Kearnan College. As we have done in the past, we encourage any parents (of Year 5/6 students) to attend so you may hear all about what Kearnan College has to offer for your child in the future. Please join us for this session on Thursday 2 May at 9.00am in the school library.
Colour Fun Run - Friday 3 May
Let's make this a big fundraiser for our wonderful P&F! We ask families to buy a white t-shirt for your child to wear on the day of the Fun Run, this makes the colour really stand out! On the day, we will stagger class groups running around the school oval where they will be 'coloured' by some of our senior students for some fun and laughter. It really is an ideal photo opportunity, so if you can be around, I would encourage you to come along (once we have a schedule for the day we will communicate this to all families). Our P&F has a fundraising focus on improvements for our Early Childhood area along with future improvements to our basketball court. So far, we have raised a total of $1200 on-line which is awesome for our first week back! Well done to those families who have managed to make their child's on-line profile. If you need any help, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
Mother's Day brekkie - Friday 10 May
Keep this morning free - Friday 10 May! Our wonderful staff is once again inviting all our Mums to school for a special breakfast from 7.45am. Last year's brekkie was so popular we are doing it all again, so come along to enjoy a gourmet brioche bacon, camembert and spinach roll. The P&F will also be drawing the Mother's Day raffle at this event. See you there!
School Uniform
A reminder from now until the end of the year, we are still wearing the formal uniform on Wednesday and Thursday, however there is a choice of what formal uniform items your child can wear. Further details within this newsletter.
Have a safe and enjoyable weekend.
