Thursday 2 May, 2024 (Week 3)
A note from Mr Pardini
Dear Families,
ANZAC Day
Thank you to the year 6 class for hosting our school ANZAC Day service last Wednesday. We welcomed the attendance of ex-service personnel special guests as we remembered our fallen soliders, along with all who served and those who continue to serve.
On ANZAC Day, Daisy and Hudson (Head Girl and Head Boy) represented our school at the town service laying a wreath at the memorial.
Kearnan College visit
Today we had staff from Kearnan College come to school and talk to all year 5/6 students about Middle School at the College. If you would like more information about Kearnan College, please contact the school directly for a tour and interview with the Principal, Mr Ben Priest. In the coming weeks, our Year 6 students will join with Kearnan College (and other surrounding schools) for a transition day. More details to come about this day.
Colour Fun Run - tomorrow!
Can you believe it is tomorrow? Thankfully the weather looks like the rain will hold off for the day. A reminder to all parents of the times for the Fun Run on our oval are as follows:
- 11.30-12.00 (Year 2/3)
- 12.00-12.30 (Kindy/PP/Year 1)
- 12.30-1.00pm (Year 4/5/6)
- 1.00pm 'Principal for the Day' draw!
At the conclusion of the run, our wonderful P&F will provide a free sausage sizzle and juice box to all children. Please note, our canteen will not be running tomorrow, so all students will still need to bring their own recess. If your child does not want to eat the sausage sizzle, please provide them an alternative lunch from home.
Don't forget to send your child to school tomorrow in a white t-shirt, with a spare change of clothes in their bag for after the event.
At the conclusion of the Fun Run (1.00pm), we will announce the winner of 'Principal for the Day' where one of the top three fundraisers per class will get drawn at random.
Mother's Day Breakfast
I hope the date for Mother's Day breakfast is in your calendar....Friday 10 May from 7.45am. Come along and enjoy breakfast, catered by the St Brigid's staff. A coffee van will be there should you wish to purchase a hot drink, or you may prefer to make your own at the tea/coffee station we will provide. At this morning, the P&F will be drawing the Mother's Day raffle, so make sure you are there! Of course, St Brigid's children are welcome too - we have a bacon roll organised for them. So come along to the basketball court and let's launch into Mother's Day weekend in style!
Have a safe and enjoyable weekend.
