Week 10, Term 3
A note from Mr Pardini...
Can you believe this is the last day of term? Thank you one and all for your support of all our events this term. I know you will all be looking forward to some time together over the holidays and a break from the busy morning routines before school.
May I remind everyone, that Term 4 commences for all students (even our Pre-Kindy class) on Tuesday 11 October. Monday 10 October is a pupil free day.
As this term draws to a close, may I take this opportunity to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday and I look forward to coming back together for all the fun of Term 4.
Happy holidays!
Carlo Pardini
Principal
'Norne' Playground update
The earthworks for our new adventure playground 'Norne' (replica of a Tiger Snake) has commenced! 'Norne' is the Noongar word for 'Tiger Snake'. It is with much excitement that we are beginning to see the initial stages of our playground installation. Mr Murray Stevenson (playground creator) will be installing the structure in the second week of the holidays. In the meantime, the earth will be prepared and a concrete pad poured for the structure to sit on. Thank you to our parents who responded to our call for help. We now have enough people bringing their drills along for some pre-installation work. The playground should be completed and ready to use for the start of Term 4. In case you have forgotten what our new playground looks like, a picture of the design concept is included below.
Y5 and Y6 Camp
A reminder we have two camps in week 1 of next term. Our lucky Year 5 class will head to Metricup and the surrounding Margaret River region for 3 days whilst the Year 6s head to Fairbridge in Pinjarra for 4 days. Our Year 6 students will need to be 'super' organised as they depart on the first day back (Tuesday 11 October). Thank you in advance to Mrs Price and Mr Ternent for their organisation (and planning) of these extra curricular learning experiences.
Here are the dates for these camps:
- Year 5 (Wednesday 12 October - Friday 14 October)
- Year 6 (Tuesday 11 October - Friday 14 October)
Summer Uniform for Term 4
A reminder, as we move into Term 4, all students (Years 1-6) will need to wear the summer uniform. Girls: summer dress, black shoes & white socks (sandals optional); Boys: blue shirt, grey shorts, black shoes & grey socks (sandals optional). Please contact the office if you require new items. Our front office will be open on the pupil free day (Monday 10 October) if you require some late purchases.
Dance Sport fun!
Our thanks to Debbie-Ann and Daniel who worked with all students (PP-Y6) last week for St Brigid's Dance Sport fun. Thank you for supporting this week with your presence at the showcase on Friday. It is quite impressive to see how much the students learn in just 5 sessions! The week was a great opportunity for students to learn some new dance moves, recall some muscle memory from previous years along with many brain stimulation benefits.

Blues Weekend 'Camping' P&F Fundraiser
Our annual Blues Weekend 'Camping on the Oval' is approaching - Friday 11 to Monday 14 November! Early next term we will be sending out a roster requesting for helpers over the weekend. This event is our largest P&F fundraiser and has been a huge success for a lot of years, attracting many returning 'happy campers' - we currently have 111 campers booked in! The ongoing success of this event is entirely reliant on the help of St B's families. For those of you who are new to our school community and might be unfamiliar with this event we will provide more details when we issue the roster.
