Thursday 18 July, 2024 (Week 1)
A note from Mr Pardini
Dear Families,
Welcome back to Term 3! I hope families were able to enjoy the school holiday break and students have returned feeling refreshed and ready to embark the second semester of 2024! This term promises to be enriching across all facets, and we will look forward to concluding the term with our annual "Wellness Week" when we take a step back and slow the pace for students, families and staff.
NAIDOC Week - Tomorrow we celebrate NAIDOC Week with a school prayer service at 10am in the Church, following this liturgy the students will all share damper made by our Year 3 class.
Book Week Parade - CHANGE OF DATE! Apologies for any inconvenience, but we have moved the Book Week Parade by one day to Tuesday 20 August. This new date will now include our wonderful Kindy class (an oversight on my behalf!). We look forward to gathering together for our morning parade on this day.
School Uniform - A friendly reminder students in Year 1 to 6 wear sport uniform Monday, Tuesday & Friday (Faction shirt Friday) and formal uniform Wednesday & Thursday. As we transition to sport uniform in 2025 and phase out our formal uniform we are allowing flexibility on formal uniform options. Sport uniform - please ensure your child is wearing St Brigid's uniform items including our school navy sport socks and suitable sport sneakers (not casual streetwear sneakers). Please see below for a detailed guide of our uniform.
Long Service Leave - At the start of week 3, I will be commencing a short period of long service leave of three weeks. In my absence, Mrs Louise Barber will assume the role of Acting Principal. I will return to school on Monday 19 August.
UR Strong - Next week, the staff will begin a series of lessons across the school to introduce a program entitled URStrong. URStrong is a whole-school friendship strategy aimed at improving the social climate in schools. This program is delivered as lessons equipping children, parents, and teachers with a common language of friendship. We are proud to be a URSTRONG School, empowering your children with friendship skills through their award-winning Friendology curriculum. You may have noticed on the term planner there is an online evening session planned (Tuesday 20 August) for parents and children to attend together online. More information will be sent home regarding the specifics of this session, but we would love as many of our families engaging online for this session as possible.
Have a wonderful weekend ahead.

Term 3 Planner
A printed copy was sent home last term, you can also easily sync the calendar on SZapp to your phone calendar - if you're unsure on how to do this or you require a printed copy of the term planner, please feel free to come into the school office.
Bunbury Soup Van - Meal in a Can
St Brigid's School is supporting the Bunbury Soup Van "Meal in a Can" initiative, to help those in need, including homeless and struggling families, by providing soup and meals. Over the next two weeks, we are appealing to St Brigid's families to provide a "Meal in a Can" in support of this cause. Donations can be brought to the classrooms in the boxes provided. Thank you.
Canteen Roster
Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to help in the canteen this term. We still have a few spots left to fill, if you can assist, please let us know by either posting a comment on our Parent Facebook page, or directly contacting Kristan Banks our Canteen Manager or the school office.
Look at what's coming up!
