Thursday 12 September 2024 (Week 9)
A note from Mr Pardini!
Dear Families,
P&F Disco - A huge note of thanks to the P&F for coordinating last week's disco through the combined effort of our Year 6 parents. The parent group took on an array of roles including promoting the event, organising the catering, making the lolly bags, setting up the photo booth, coordinating games, making signage, creating a play list and DJ'ing the disco! Well done and thank you to all parents who made this year's disco a success.
Open Afternoon & Art Exhibition - It was lovely to see so many families casually touring the school to look inside the classrooms and view work samples. A big thank you to our staff for spending many hours ensuring work was displayed and giving such attention to detail. I know for many; the highlight was walking into the hall to view our whole school art exhibition - it was truly a sight to see! Congratulations to our Art Teachers, Ms Weaver and Mrs Beesley on your efforts to make the exhibition come alive. It was such a pleasure to see the layers of work that went into the lessons and see the impact of such visual pieces. Thank you.
Creative Crew take out first place! - On Sunday our group of students attended the Creative Edge Challenge at St Mary's School in Bunbury where they performed a 10-minute dramatisation which they wrote and choreographed themselves, under the guidance of Mrs Barber. After many sessions this year working together, the group were awarded first place by the judges. Congratulations to Louis Hoar, Ella Milne, Oliver Doust, Daisy Glancy, Flynn Mark, Eleanor Caldwell, William Patrick and Riley Christensen. Well done on achieving this awesome result! Thank you to the families who supported the challenge by your presence in Bunbury.
Year 5 Camp - The lucky Year 5 class will be staying overnight at the Pemberton Camp School tonight and returning tomorrow. We are packing in a lot to the schedule to make it a memorable camp experience for the group. We look forward to sharing the photos from camp with you next week.
Wellness Week - Next week we look forward to our Wellness Week, a week where we aim to 'slow the pace' and direct our focus to promoting wellbeing, mindfulness, humour, and friendships through an array of activities. Students are to wear sport uniform all week!
Where is Mr Ternent? - We wish Mr Ternent and his family safe travels as he embarks on a European holiday over the next 6 weeks. Tomorrow will be Mr T's final day this term and we look forward to hearing his many exciting travel experiences on his return for the start of week 3 next term (Tuesday 22 October). The Year 6 class are super lucky to have Mrs Fiona Willis being their teacher over this period.
Have a wonderful weekend.
