Thursday 10 October 2024 (Week 1)
A note from Mr Pardini!
Dear Families,
Hats Hats Hats! - Please remember, all students must wear a school hat during recess and lunch as per our "NO HAT NO PLAY" policy this term. Any child that does not have a hat will be seated in the shade and will not be allowed on the playground or oval. School hats can be purchased online via CDF Pay or directly from the front office. Thank you.
Term 4 planners - Hard copies were sent home last term and we have attached another copy to this newsletter below to keep you up to date with the latest happenings at St Brigid's.
P&F Quiz night - Our P&F are looking forward to the Quiz night which is on tomorrow night. It's not too late to purchase a table, so if you would like one, please contact the office tomorrow morning. The flyer with information about the quiz is below.
Quality Catholic School Education Review (QCSER) - Next year, our school will be taking part in an internal CEWA audit known as the QCSER. As a prelude to being audited, Principals are invited to be on a panel and take part in another school's review. As a result of this, I will be away for three days next week in Perth (Monday to Wednesday). I look forward to returning to school on Thursday. Thank you once again to Mrs Barber for covering my absence at this time. I will provide more information early next year about our own audit for your information.
School Photo Day - School photos will be taken on Tuesday 22 October. As this is the final year where we have a formal uniform, and we are still awaiting some orders for our 2025 sport uniform, we will be taking the photo in full summer formal uniform. We will assist any families who need help with an item of formal clothing, simply call the front office. Please see the note below regarding what your child needs to wear.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Community Tree Planting
Socktober
In Term Four, St Brigid’s will be working with Catholic Missions to support the Don Bosco Caring Centre in Mongolia. By focusing specifically on this centre, our students connect directly to make a difference to support children from disadvantaged and vulnerable backgrounds. The video link attached will be shared throughout our classes and teachers will explore the impact we can make globally as part of our learning. https://youtu.be/hk9H9s6XtNc
Please note, as a school we are not choosing the online fundraising model but instead will host our own activities on Thursday 24 October. These include:
- 10 am whole school Liturgy hosted by Kindy to Year Two (held in the Church)
- Recess & lunch soccer – whole school using soccer balls made in D & T
- Fun socks – gold coin donation
- Icy pole treat – gold coin donation
- Students can also choose to donate additional coins on the day.
Design & Technology - donations required
A message from Mrs Kerr,
Next week the year 4 class will be making soccer balls made from recycled materials. We are in need if plastic bags, polystyrene and socks. The soccer balls will be used during soccer games on Socktober day during recess and lunch.
If you have any of these materials, you are willing to donate please bring them to the library, Mrs Kerr will have a box to put them in.
Thank you
