Thursday 14 November 2024 (Week 6)
A note from Mr Pardini
Dear Families,
Blues Weekend - What a massive weekend for our school! A huge amount of 'behind the scenes' prep went into this year's camping on our oval. A special thank you to Jo Hoare and Sheridan Higgins for coordinating the breakfast rosters, Bruce Beesley and Nathan Milne for their work ensuring the campers were settled (and in their correct sites) and of course, our staff and parents who gave their time to make it all happen! From cooking up 'snags' on the BBQ to checking in caravans on Friday night, we could not have done it without your help. The feedback that we received from the weekend was all positive and I know the campers left happy and ready to book again for 2025.
Inter-school Athletics Carnival - Yesterday we completed the first events of our Interschool carnival. We look forward to hosting tomorrow on our school oval for the remaining events together with students from Bridgetown Primary School. The day will commence at 9.30am - a program has been added onto our school app, so please refer to this for the order of events. Our wonderful P&F have once again coordinated a morning tea stall. There will also be a coffee van on site for hot drinks as well as some food items. Thank you everyone for ordering through our school canteen which will provide the sausage sizzle lunch. Good luck to all our competitors tomorrow! Go St Bs!!!
Swimming Lessons - At this stage, I have not been informed about Term 1, 2025 swimming lessons. As soon as information is shared with me, I will pass this on. Thank you once again for your understanding.
Annual Community Meeting (ACM) - On Tuesday 26 November at 6.00pm we will hold our school Annual Community Meeting (ACM), [formerly known as the Annual General Meeting], in our school library. At this meeting both the P& F and School Advisory Council present a summation of the year and nominations for vacant positions on these committees will be presented and filled. If you would like to know more about either of these committees, please don't hesitate to ask. Nominations must be made to join committees via our school app SZapp - you can nominate yourself or someone else. All nominees will need to be present at the meeting. All parents are welcome to attend this meeting, and we conclude this meeting with light refreshments.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Principal
World Kindness Day
Yesterday at St Brigid's we marked World Kindness Day with a "Be the 'I' in KIND" photo wall - thank you to Mrs Elam our Wellness Coordinator for your effort in bringing this beautiful display together. We encourage everyone to be kind every day and remember that 'kindness is contagious'. We have included a link to a clip showing how simple acts of kindness can be contagious and come back around to us - take the time to watch this if you can. Thank you.
St Brigid's marked World Kindness Day yesterday with a "Be the 'I' in KIND" photo wall. Thank you to Mrs Elam our Student Wellness Coordinator for organising such a lovely welcome to school kindness activity and the fabulous display in our undercover area. We encourage you all to take the time to view the video below; a wonderful reminder of how kindness is contagious and like a boomerang that comes back to you!
