Week 2, Term 4
Welcome from Mr Pardini
How quickly the weeks are flying past! As we turn the corner into week 3, it almost feels like the 'calm before the storm' where the next few weeks picks up with events. One of the highlights from this week has been the opening of our new playground. We can't imagine the area without it now, as it already fits beautifully in the Declan Kane Nature Playground.
It has been some weeks since we introduced our Schoolzine app (called SZapp) which has been well received. Obviously if you are reading this newsletter, you have subscribed which is awesome. However, we still have over 100 caregivers who have not. SZapp is to be downloaded by all parents (and yes, that means you too Dads!!!!). This way, we can push out notifications and send updates to our entire community. So, if you are reading this, and you know you someone in your immediate family still needs to download the app...please help them! We are always here to help too, so please ask them to call by the school and we can do it with them in 2 minutes. Thanks so much for your support with this.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Confirmation Mass - October 30 (5.00pm)
On Sunday 30 October we will celebrate the Sacrament Mass of Confirmation with 7 students from our Year 6 class. Mass will be at 5.00pm in the church, followed by a light supper. This Mass is a lovely way to support our students in their faith journey, so please do try to come along. If you could bring a plate of food to share, this would be very much appreciated. We offer up our prayers of support for David, George, Evie, Daniel, Ashley, Sophie and Taj as they work towards their Confirmation.
Dress in Green Day
Tomorrow is 'Dress in Green Day' - students can wear green clothes or simply accessorise with socks etc. We welcome back the riders from the Super Kids Super Hero's scooter ride raising funds for The Kids Cancer Project. Your child is asked to bring a 'gold coin' donation tomorrow, which we can present to the riders tomorrow afternoon. We expect to welcome home the team on the school oval from 2.30pm. Families are welcome to attend if they wish to cheer them on as they arrive home.
Norne 'tiger snake' playground
It's ready! Our sensational new playground had its first 'play' on it today! The excitement was visible as children explored its many parts and features. Thank you to Kurt Mentlein, Bruce Beesley, Jordan Turner and Dennis Ulph who spent time over the school holidays to assist with the installation. This week Craig Doust and his team have been working hard to prepare the softfall around the base - thank you Craig! The P&F can be very proud of their fundraising efforts to make our new playground come to fruition as well as our entire school community for getting behind this project. Well done everyone!
Thank you Mrs Wilson
You will be aware that this year, Mrs Fran Wilson has taken a year of leave from being our school canteen manager. Mrs Wilson has worked at St Brigid's for 9 years, and has made the decision not to return in 2023. For anyone who knows Fran, she is busier now than she has ever been and is pursuing other interests and spending time with family. Mrs Kristan Banks has been our canteen manager this year, and will continue in this role from the start of 2023. Thank you Mrs Wilson for the time you gave our school (cooking lots and lots of cheesies!) and for being a great link with the Parish community.
